Toss: India won the toss and elected to bowl first, because the condition was favorable for the bowlers.

Ireland Innings:

The decision looked perfect, as Zahirkhan removed the opener with a beauty of a delivery. Before recovering from that shock, he again removed a batsman and Ireland was struggling with 2 down for 9 runs. Then was a century stand between the dedicated captain Poterfield and NJ O’brien. Dhoni tried various bowlers and they did not pay for the team. Finally, Yuvraj castled the captain with a fantastic delivery and the batsman had no clue about that delivery.

Once the stand was broken, Indians took control of the innings and Yuvraj was simply deadly. Though Yuvraj was a part time bowler, he mesmerized the batsmen with his left arm spinners. When the captain and the other batsman were at the crease, it looked that they would be able to cross at least two hundred and fifty. But, Yuvraj had other ideas and he brought back his team and restricted Ireland for 207. He took 5/31 and Ireland was bowled out for that score. Zahir Khan took 3/30.

Indian Innings:

India started their innings with a four from Sewag and immediately he lost his wicket as he was taken by the bowler Johnston. Gambir got our after the departure of Sewag. Tendulkar was going well and he scored 38 runs when he also got out. But, Indians were able to score runs in ones and twos with occasional fours. Dhoni and Yuvraj found a partnership of over fifty runs. When it looked India would run away with the match, Dhoni got out. Yusuf Pathan changed the game in his own way. He took a four and two sixes in the same over and things looked bright for Indians. Yuvraj was able to score his fifty runs to supplement his bowling spell. Finally, the winning score was a four by Yusuf Pathan. India won the match by five wickets with four overs to spare.

Man of the Match: Yuvraj Singh for his 5/31 and 50 not out.
