[How To Install] Turn your USB Flash Drive Into Bootable Windows 7 OS DVD

Here I will show you how to make use of your Flash USB drives into Bootable Windows 7 OS DVD so that you can forget carrying OS DVD’s for installation purpose instead use USB only. This trick gives maximum exposure to those who travel a lot with their laptops and now if something goes wrong with their OS they don’t have to bother about carrying Windows 7 OS DVD with them any more. Just have a backup of your Windows 7 iso file on your laptop and a USB pendrive with 4+ GB that’s it.

REQUIREMENTS :

1. Backup of WIndows 7 OS file in .iso format.
2. USB Pen Drive with 4+ GB disk space.

STEPS TO MAKE IT WORK :

1. Firstly download software called MBRwiz (or google to get other download link) which helps converting your USB pendrives from FAT32 to NTFS.

2. Connect your pendrive to your laptop and ‘Format‘ first. To format goto My Computer > Right click on USB drive and hit ‘Format’ as shown in below picture:-

3. Goto Startup > Run > CMD > (type following to convert USB drive from FAT32 to NTFS partitions)

convert h: /fs:ntfs

4. Now mount Windows 7 ISO image file using MagicISO or PowerISO or Daemon Tool or any other programs of your wish.

5. Goto Startup > Run > CMD > DIR to goto directory where you installed MBRwiz (refer step 1) and type below commands -

mbrwiz /list (here you get disk number of USB Drive)

mbrwiz /disk=Z /active=Z (Z is Disk Number found in above command)

exit

6. Open CMD again and type below commands -

F: (Drive letter of Windows 7 iso mounted on PowerISO)

CD boot

bootsect /nt60 G: (G is drive letter of your USB drive )

7. Now you can copy all the Windows 7 files from DVD to your Pendrive.

8. Restart your Laptop/PC and keep pressing F9 to opt “USB DRIVE as your Bootable Drive”.

9. That’s it ! If everything was done properly then your system must read the Windows 7 files from your pendrive.
