The official Tweet Button has 3 styles (two of them with a counter and the other without). The button only works with JavaScript and is not completely customizable. This post is for all those who want to customize the button into a pious and simple text link. The result is a simple HTML link with all the features of the tweet button (with the exception of counter)
How to add the Tweet Button to Blogger:
1. Sign in to your Blogspot Account and Go to Design > then Edit HTML
2. Check the box which denotes “Expand Widget Templates”
3. Now Find This Code:
<data:post.body/>
Directly subsequent to that line paste the following HTML code (Edit the code if You Know What You’re Doing)
expr:href=’”http://twitter.com/share?text=” +data:post.title+ “&url=” + data:post.url + “&via=twitter&related=Sagardezign: Tips for Bloggers “‘ style=’float: left; background: url(http://lh5.ggpht.com/_u4gySN2ZgqE/TGeItpz_KFI/AAAAAAAABmE/HrzGzh8nvTk/tweetbutton[3].png) left no-repeat; padding-left: 20px;’ title=’Share on Twitter’ rel=’nofollow’ target=’_blank’ >Tweet This</a>
Save the blogger Template and you should be able to see a Tweet This link underneath each of your blog posts.
You can customize the HTML code in RED. Instead of twitter you can add your username of twitter account and instead of Sagardezign: Tips for bloggers you can add your twitter handle which you want to recommend. You can also put any text you want to show instead of Tweet This.
