Hidden Windows7 Shortcuts You Might Not Know [ Keyboard Shortcuts Tips]

Do you know everything there is to know about Windows 7? There are always things that arise, things that take you by surprise and you realize that there is so much more. Keyboard shortcuts for one, I know that some of you feel that the mouse would be quicker, but for those techies that just love the keyboard, here are a few little tricks.

 

ALT + P
In Windows Explorer, this short-cut will open a preview pane of your file, it could be an image, document or a sound /video file. It’s a handy replacing the need for third party software.

Windows + Up and Windows + Down
If you need to quickly maximize a window, press the ‘Windows + Up’ key to fill your entire window, and pressing ‘Windows + Down’ to minimize the active Window.

Windows + Shift + Up and Windows + Shift + Down
By using this 3 key combination, you can stretch your active window to the maximum desktop height, and the width will stay the same, pressing the ‘Windows + Shift + Down’ combination will return it to the original.

Windows + Left and Windows + Right
This is the keyboard version of the aero snap feature. Normally you would drag a window to the left or right side and it will resize to that side of the screen. By using this keyboard shortcut you are able to do the same thing depending on the direction of the arrow you choose.

Windows + Home
This will minimize all open windows apart from the one you’re using, it performs the same function as aero shake, press it again to restore the other windows.

Windows + T
The aero flip (Windows + Tab) and (Alt + Tab) are the shortcuts used most by users, Windows + T will cycle through your thumbnails giving you a sneak peak of them.

Windows + Number
Launching new programs that you have added to your taskbar can be done by, simply pressing the Windows key and then the number corresponding to that program on your taskbar, ie. 1 will launch the first program there

Windows + Space
This shortcut has the same function as aero peak, it lets you look at your desktop underneath if you press it.
